Erik graduated from BGSU in 2004 with a degree in Telecommunications. After working as a play-by-play broadcaster for the Jamestown Jammers in Jamestown, New York during the summer of 2004, Erik moved to Charleston, South Carolina for a position as the pre- and post-game radio host for the Charleston RiverDogs. '

Erik then was offered a graduate assistantship in the Sports Information Department at The Citadel.  It was there he received his Master's of Education in School Counseling in December of 2007. He is currently working as a school counselor at Sullivans Island Elementary School in Sullivans Island, South Carolina.

Despite the change in careers, Erik remains a huge sports fan. For some reason, he is still a huge fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, and Cleveland Cavaliers. He still holds out hope that maybe some day, one of them will break the Cleveland curse and win a title. He is also a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes football and basketball teams and supports his alma mater, the Bowling Green State University Falcons.

Erik still lives on the coast in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina.
