Rankings the Pac-10's all-time top players

Over the past few weeks, I've started a rundown of the three greatest players from each team in each of the six BCS conferences, based primarily on the players' accomplishments in college.

ARIZONA WILDCATS

1. Ricky Hunley (LB): Two-time consensus All-American, the first in school history, in 1982 and 1983 and in 1998 became the first and only Wildcat player ever to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
2. Rob Waldrop (DT): Won the 1993 Nagurski and Bednarik awards and Outland Trophy; the only Wildcat player ever to win any of those awards.
3. Chris McAlister (CB): Unanimous All-American choice in 1998 and a three-time All-Pac 10 first-team selection. First in school history and seventh in college football history to return a kick, punt and interception for a touchdown in the same season.

ARIZONA STATE SUN DEVILS

1. Terrell Suggs (DE): Won the 2002 Nagurski, Lombardi, and Hendricks awards, and left school as career leader in tackles for a loss (65.5) and sacks (44).
2. Michael Haynes (DB): 1975 All American and three-time All Conference selection was a 2001 inductee into the College Football Hall of Fame.
3. Danny White (QB): Quarterbacked the Sun Devils to a 32-4 record over his career, including three conference titles and three Fiesta Bowl wins. Led nation in passing efficiency in 1973 en route to All-American honors and is a 1998 inductee into the College Football Hall of Fame.

CALIFORNIA GOLDEN BEARS

1. Joe Kapp (QB): 1958 first-team All-American finished fifth in the Heisman voting. Led the team in total offense all three years and was a 2004 inductee into the College Football Hall of Fame.
2. Rod Franz (OL): Only three-time All American in Cal history: 1947, '48, and a unanimous pick in 1949. Led the Bears to undefeated regular seasons in '48 and '49. Inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1977.
3. Ed White (DL): 1968 All-American was a three-time all-conference pick and a 1999 inductee into the College Football Hall of Fame.

OREGON DUCKS

1. Mel Renfro (RB): 1962 Consensus first-team All-American finished his career third on the Ducks' all-time scoring lists and is a 1986 inductee into the College Football Hall of Fame.
2. Ahmad Rashad (RB): Known as Bobby Moore in his Duck days, ranked eighth in the country in rushing as a first-team All-American in 1971 and was a 2007 inductee into the College Football Hall of Fame.
3. Joey Harrington (QB): Ducks finished 25-3 in his three years. Placed fourth in the 2001 Heisman voting. First-team All-American and Pac 10 offensive player of the year was also a finalist for the Johnny Unitas Award.

OREGON STATE BEAVERS

1. Terry Baker (QB): Only athlete to win the Heisman Trophy, Maxwell Award and Sports Illustrated's Sportsman of the Year in the same year (1962). Also won 14 player of the year awards and was named to twelve All-American teams. Only Beaver player enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame (1982).
2. Mike Hass (WR): Two-time All-American, including a first-team selection in 2005 when he brought home the Biletnikoff Award. First player in OSU and Pac-10 history with three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons and left Corvallis with several other school and Pac-10 records, including receptions in a game, season and career.
3. Steven Jackson (RB): Two-time All-American (2002 and '03) set a school record for all-purpose yards in a season in 2002 and finished his Beavers career in the top three all-time in school history in all-purpose yards and scoring.
